Yep i went there, just call me the pun master. Anyway, let's get to the more important subject at hand here: my brand new Trina Turk print blouse. It's oversized, just how i like everything, it's perfectly slouchy - comfort level at an all-time high due to silk - and it's print perfect. My thought process while purchasing was: it'll look amazing with white jeans, blue jeans and nude or khaki bottoms, as well as any type of cutoff. It can also be dressed up or down (ideal beach cover-up!) Basically, it was a no-brainer.

Taking inspiration from my gal Stephanie, i've decided to document my latest culinary endeavor. I have made these bad boys before and they are absolutely delicious, but the best part is that they are actually healthy (for serious, i am really not kidding) - they don't contain any sugar, egg, flower or butter! I'm not a huge fan of too much sweetness so these are perfect for me - find the recipe here. Every time i've made them i skipped the shredded coconut, added a little extra oatmeal and instead of putting the full canola oil portion, i do half canola, half organic Agave nectar (but you could also use honey). As for the chocolate i've used both Lindt 85% cocoa bar and Scharffen Berger 70% bittersweet bar, but you can use whatever you like, of course. Give them a try for a guilt-free sweet fix.

I keep forgetting to post these photos. We had fun in the office a couple of months ago when the gals from The American Vernacular swung by with their gorgeous vintage pieces for us to try on. I fell in love with the little white lace number, it fit so perfectly i didn't want to give it back. I could already see myself stage hopping at Coachella in it... The other dress was also an ultra-flattering, fun piece. It kind of reminded me of something Drew Barrymore would have worn with Docs and a cardigan back in the 90s. I was very happy to be contacted again by Cougar Boots to give their latest snow boot model a spin. The style in question: their classic, reinvented Pillow boots, a puffy, comfy, timberland-reminiscent style. It's been unusually warm here in New York, so it has been a little difficult to find the occasion to give them a whirl. And i have to say, the somewhat chilly evening during which i had them on my feet did not give these babies any challenge whatsoever- my paws felt like they each had been granted their personal furnaces. Not surprising, seeing as these boots are guaranteed to keep you warm all the way down to a frigid -24 degrees C/-11F.

That said, the Pillow boots are far more of a full-on winter option and not so much a transitional weather type of boot. They seem perfectly built for trekking through snow, slush and the dreaded cold, not to mention their less bulky sensibility in comparison to most winter footwear options would seduce any city slicker who wants something a little different than the token Sorel/LL Bean alternative. Not to mention how crazy comfy they are. I've gotten to know the Cougar brand over the years and their schtick is highly compelling - great boots, great prices and great history. They pretty much have a model to fit every lifestyle, so i would highly recommend to check out their website (CougarBoots.com) to see what they got going on.

Weekend Shenanigans {Photo Diary}

This past weekend, i got a very special visit from my dear friend Stephanie. She drove down all the way from Montreal to spend a few days with her ol' bud - yours truly - and her check out the new NYC digs. We really had the best time ever, scouring the streets of Williamsburg, discovering amazing hidden places, cute little local restaurants, dedicating a whole day to shopping in Soho and mostly, just having all kinds of fun catching up and enjoying each other's company. Of course, in good blogger form, we documented our adventures. Her fantastic SLR camera and her eye for capturing just the right moment for the perfect shot definitely helped make this photo diary possible. I can't wait for round 2 in the fall, where she promised to come back!
