I've been meaning to get to this for a while and there's no day like the present! I had a spare pair of black oversized dress pants (for some reason, i had 2 of them, so i sacrificed one in the name of fashion experimentation). I believe the following words were uttered by the boyf: "wow, fashion is really hard!" as i prepared for my shredding undertaking. All you need is a cheese grater and an item of clothing that you don't care too much about, in the instance that things may go wrong. Here we go!
I used a old pair of oversized black cotton dress pants (they actually even already had a hole in them):

A cheese grater (use the side that has the little openings and no soft edges, like the side you would use to shred garlic):
